Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le debuts on today (Oct. 15), and Dr. Dre has made it quite clear that he’s not a fan of the R&B singer’s upcoming biopic that will show her side of the story and life behind-the-scenes and onstage as she became one of Ruthless Records’ platinum selling artists after Straight Outta Compton omitted her.
Just last week, Dre’s legal team reportedly issued a cease and desist letter to Sony Pictures, the company behind the film, which will premiere on Lifetime, but Michel’le isn’t budging and isn’t moved at all by his alleged actions.
On Wednesday (Oct. 12), she asked TMZ Live, “Is he saying that he just didn’t abuse me at all? Because I’m insulted if that’s what he’s saying.” “I allowed him to portray hisself in his story the way he wanted to portray himself, and he allowed me the opportunity to portray myself in my story. And I think my truth will stand when we get to court, if we do.”
Notably, the film promises to give viewers a front row seat into her notoriously abusive relationships with both Dr. Dre and Suge Knight.
“[We] never were going to not tell the truth in [my] movie. We did allow him to have his attorney put that little disclaimer of sorts on there, saying that Dre disputes any and all of my allegations that I was ever hit,” she continued. “What doesn’t make sense to me is how can he apologize a year or so ago, and then now say that it never happened? I’m confused.”
Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on Lifetime. Will you be tuned in? See all that Michel’le had to said regarding Dre’s legal threats below.
