As part of SHAPE Community Center’s 48th anniversary, the center hosted “An African Ball,” an evening of art, fashion, and a hair stylings showcase, all in an effort to raise funds to support SHAPE’s broad range of programs that serve youth, elders, families and the general community. The event was held at the newly reopened Emancipation Park. Attendees included SHAPE director Deloyd Parker, Ramon Manning, Angela Chambers, SherRyl DeWalt, Vergis Sunshine Bourgeois, Zoe Jackson-Jarra, Crissee Cargile, Christian Cargile, Anthony Collier, HISD Trustee Jolanda Jones, Ed Banks, Bunmi Gaidi and several others.
