State Senator Borris Miles recently hosted the Harvey Relief Supply Distribution, an event held at the newly renovated DeLuxe Theater (3303 Lyons Ave.) in Fifth Ward which allowed those impacted by Hurricane Harvey to receive much-needed supplies. Several trailer trucks full of supplies arrived, with contents unloaded by volunteers, and immediately distributed to those in need. Additionally, participants were treated to food, music and fellowship. Attendees included Mayor Sylvester Turner, Larry “Chatterbox” Hale (KTSU), Alvin Byrd, Myrtle Jones, Sharon Burney, Scheretta Wilson, London Watkins, Darlene Trives, Tara Lucas, Brian Seymour, Lashondra Jones, and others.
