Authors to offer free divorce advice at local workshop

Spring can be an especially hard time for the newly divorced or for people trying to get over a broken relationship. Paula Drew Fleming and Alexis Thal Yancey and know this feeling all too well.

Both are divorced and remain single. Yet they are not ones to lament the past. The two are accomplished, award-winning broadcast journalists who are on a mission to help women and men navigate the wilderness of divorce to find peace again in their lives.

Fleming and Yancey are the authors of Divorce. Wilderness. Peace. A 40-Day Healing Journey, a novel and workbook designed to provide a series of strategies to help people move forward after divorce.

The two will offer a free workshop and book signing 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Chico’s Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway, Suite 720, Pearland, TX 77584. The event also features a free spring fashion show featuring Chico’s fashions.

Fleming and Yancey will read excerpts and sign copies of their book and workbook, which takes readers on a 40-day healing journey from the roller coaster of emotions involved in a break up or divorce. The authors share their personal stories about their divorces and recovery through four, 10-day chapters. The workshop will offer participants several exercises to tap into their feelings about their relationships and see where their opportunities are on their journey of rebirth.

A key part of renewal is getting a new perspective on life, including a reassessing how one appears to others. Chico’s models will show off some new looks in a fashion show for workshop participants and store wardrobe consultants will provide consultations.
