City Controller Chris Brown recently hosted the City’s 11th Annual Black History Month Program featuring individuals who have impacted the Houston area in various ways. Honorees included Jesse and Willie Bell Boone, Dr. Teddy McDavid, Carl Davis, Flo Cooper, Edna Griggs, Thelma Scott, Jacqueline Pierce and Clara Caldwell. Other attendees included program organizer Jackie Pope, Courtney Smith, Councilmember Robert Gaigos, Shannan Nobles, Janice Weaver, Tophas Anderson, TaKasha Francis, Charisse Mosely, Diane Lyles, Evelyn Peters Dean and scores more.
