EastSide University, an entity that provides educational assistance and job skills development, hosted its 2019 2nd Annual Turning the Pages for Literacy. The event supported EastSide’s efforts to champion literacy, bridge the digital divide and more. Founder and Executive Director of EastSide, Pastor Manson Johnson, offered remarks, as did Jackie Aguilera, EastSide’s president/CEO. Other attendees included Comcast’s Misha McClure and Ray Purser, Dr. Rhea Lawson, Zelda Johnson, Georgia Provost, County Attorney Vince Ryan, Adriana & Ismael Tamez, Nicole Robinson, and event honorees former judge Ed Emmett, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and NNPA president Karen Carter Richards.
