As part of the AKA’s 68th Boule, the sorority hosted the Take Action Now Forum at the George R. Brown Convention Center featuring panelists Senator Kamala Harris, U.S. Representatives Sheila Jackson Lee, Alma Adams, Frederica Wilson and Terri Sewell, and AKA International President Dr. Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, with moderator Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (former Baltimore mayor). The main topic was organizing to maximize voter turnout this November, including activating Millennials, organizing rides to the polls and more. Other attendees included Kim Topps, Rhonda Skillern Jones, Maisha Walker, Susan Bynam, councilmembers Martha Castex-Tatum and Amanda Edwards, Dr. Sharon Shaw-McEwen and countless others.
