The Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi) held their 49th Annual Convention, “Our Roots, Our Future,” at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. ABPsi was founded in 1968 to address issues facing the Black community and Black psychologists. The convention provided continuing education opportunities, professional development, keynote speakers, over 80 sessions and workshops, along with activities specifically for college students, elders and others open to all. Attendees included ABPsi president Mwata Kevin Washington, Dr. Carol Cummings, NASA senior exec. Vanessa Wyche, Dr. Valerie Lawrence, Deloyd Parker, Karen Hickman, Dr. Nannette Williams, Dr. Dennis Alexander, Roger Thomas III, Clifford Robinson II, Felicia Jackson and more.
