A bevvy of community-minded individuals gathered recently at the Tasting Room for the opening reception of Black Philanthropy Houston, an initiative launched in 2019 to inspire, connect and inform Black givers in Houston. Participants discussed findings from the first-ever survey of Black Houstonians’ top issues, causes and ways to increase their philanthropic impact. The survey’s results will serve as a springboard for Black Philanthropy Houston’s 2020 activities. Attendees included founder LaTanya Flix, Kim Roxie, Patra Brannon-Isaac, Cassye Cook Provost, Roderick Marshall, Pamela Ulmer, Maica Walker, Zawadi Bryant, Alan Watkins, Jackie Reed, Kendall Thompson, Josh Hudley and many more.
