Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo addressed issues facing the African American community at the latest Defender Conversations & Coffee series titled “State of Black Houston.” Turner and Hidalgo showed slide presentations and fielded questions about what the city and county are doing to benefit Black constituents in front of a packed audience at the Power Center. CenterPoint Energy sponsored the State of Black Houston event. During a Q&A session, the two discussed various topics.
