The Houston Black Heritage Music & Arts Festival, an annual celebration of African American culture expressed through art, music, education, poetry, food and community, held this year’s festivities at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Themed villages centered around empowerment, health & wellness, cultural arts, and more enriched attendees as the festival paid homage to community trailblazers via its Black Heritage Honors program,  and entertained with revered performers Stokley Williams, Lalah Hathaway, J. Paul Jr., Jessica Reedy, Earnest Pugh and Vincent Powell. Event founder, Richard Andrews, welcomed attendees including Zina Garrison, DJ Nicky Nice, Rep. Shawn Thierry, Bwagilo Hairston and many others.
