Children in kindergarten through eighth grade cast their votes for the next president at The Imani School  mock election in the school’s library.

The school organized the event to engage the students in state and national campaigns, teach the importance of voting and the power of their ballots. Candidate for Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez visited students and participated in the mock election.

A total of 265 votes were cast; 1 for Gary Johnson, 5 for Jill Stein, 14 for Donald Trump and 245 for Hillary Clinton. In attendance were the Head of School Patricia Hogan Williams, Yvette Smith, Shawna Clay, James Dixon, Marley Harris, Londyn Howard, Lauren Brown, Dike Kalv and many more.
