A book signing for Josie Robinson Johnson was recently hosted by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis at his home. Ms. Johnson, the sister of Houston City Councilman Judson Robinson Jr., was a civil rights icon in her own right. Over 50 years ago she lead a delegation from Minnesota to the March on Washington, was the first African American to serve as a regent on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents, served as deputy campaign manager for Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign and her book gives you an inside look into her historical journey.  In the audience were Cora and Judson Robinson III, Algenita Scott Davis, Charlene James, Gerald Womack, Remmele Young, Dr. James Douglas, Linda Brown, Argentina James, Lawrence Battle and a host of others.
