TSU’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law had the pleasure of welcoming California Congresswoman Maxine Waters as its 2018 Hooding Ceremony keynote speaker. With 40 years of public service, Waters (Auntie Maxine) is considered one of the most esteemed women in U.S. politics as a no-nonsense champion of justice. As a prelude to the official TSU Commencement, the TMSL Hooding Ceremony has become an honored and respected tradition. Attendees included U.S .Reps Sheila Jackson Lee and Al Green, TMSL Interim Dean Gary Bledsoe, HISD Trustee Jolanda Jones, Cherrise Traylor, State Senators Sylvia Garcia and Borris Miles, Ambassador Sidney Williams, Alberta Bledsoe, Ashley Scott, Kathy Adibe, Shawnta Adams, Brian King, Marina Banks and many others.
