The For the Sake of Art 2018 wearable art competition held its kick-off event recently at the TSU Museum. The competition, which will be held June 9 at the Hilton Americas Grand Ballroom, celebrates the vibrant talent of emerging artists and designers while highlighting the permanent collection of African American art at the TSU Museum and serving as the venue’s major fundraiser. The kick-off event provided a preview of the June festivities to come. Museum director Dr. Alvia Wardlaw and event chairs Mary Auzenne, Gaynell Drexler and Evelyn Washington welcomed an array of supporters including Andrea Bonner, Sabrina Loeb, Catherine and Michael Garner, Bola Patrick, Meagan Alexander, Dr. Sarah Trotty, Michelle Barnes, Ernest Walker, Lloyd Gite, Chellilina Ezenibe and more.
