Activist Deric Muhammad led the Smart’N Up Black Male Summit 2018 at the Shrine Cultural and Events Center, an event filled with motivational presentations, high-energy workshops and positive interactions designed to address inner-city violence and the importance of education. The Summit also featured a celebrity appearance by rapper Zro. Attendees of the standing-room-only Summit included Pastor E.A. Deckard, Damon Williams, Daylen Williams, Kaleb Taylor, State Rep. Ron Reynolds, Booker McKenstry, Kameron Williams, Jakari Evans, Jarod Mosley, Nailah Nelson, Chris Whaley, Esmesha Campbell and others.
