Valerie Jarrett, the longest-serving senior advisor in the Obama White House and long-time friend of the First Family, came to Houston recently as part of her national tour promoting her book, “Finding My Voice.” A packed house at the Houston Public Library’s Julia Ideson Building greeted Jarrett as she shared her journey as a daughter, mother, lawyer, business leader, and leader in government during the historic Obama administration.
