Acting UP Studios hosted its 4th Disturbing the Peace Youth Slam and Artist Showcase at the Lifelong Learning Center. DTP is a city wide competition and showcase featuring some of the finest voices in youth poetry. The showcase sets the stage for young talent to not only discover and develop their skill in performance, but to harness their thoughts and ideas and give soulful weight to their Spoken Word. The event was hosted by Acting UP studios founder Joe Palmore. Performers included Aireanna Page-Wilson, Lauryn Ford, Alicia Selveva, Aleandria Worshum, Adam Mac, Ashlyn Stewart, Don Val and David Akinware. The high school artists competed for first, second and third place titles. Winners received YMCA memberships and gift cards.
