Ludacris becomes Gabonese citizen, celebrates African heritage

Grammy award-winning rapper, Ludacris is kicking off the new year with dual citizenship.

Ludacris (real name Christopher Brian Bridges) in an Instagram post revealed that he is now a citizen of Gabon, the home country of his wife Eudoxie Mbouguiengue.

While flashing his new passport, he joked: “I am a loyal citizen of Zamunda, I mean Gabon. This is the greatest day of my life, and Wakanda, all of that.”

In the Instagram video, he confirmed his mother and two daughters also received Gabonese citizenship.

Fans celebrated the move, with several saying: “Welcome home.”

In recent years a number African-American celebrities have received African citizenship or traveled to Africa to trace their roots.
