Well over 10,000 people were in attendance at Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s 24th Annual Toys for Kids event held at the GRB where toys were given away to many of the city’s underserved youth. Simone Biles received a proclamation from Congressman Lee in front of representatives from the many sponsoring organizations including the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Department, Houston Fire Department, NASA Astronauts, Houston Zoo, Coca-Cola, Oprah Winfrey Network, Ensemble Theatre, Houston Ballet and others. Attendees included Clutch the Rocket Bear, local and national entertainers and Santa, along with Lil’ Jesse, Judson Robinson III, Janice Weaver, Kathy Griffin-Grinan, Judge-Elect Lina Hildalgo, Jonathan Martin (FOX26), Constable Alan Rosen, Mayor Sylvester Turner, Commissioner Rodney Ellis and thousands more.
