Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Houston Metropolitan Area Chapters (HMAC) will converge to celebrate Founders’ Day at Noon, Hilton Americas-Houston, 1600 Lamar St., Houston, TX  77010 on Saturday, January 14, 2017. The featured guest speaker for the event is motivational speaker Mia Wright. Mrs. Wright is Co-Pastor and Director of Ministry at The Fountain of Praise in Houston, Texas where she serves the community with her husband Pastor Remus Wright. The Founders’ Day celebration is open to the public.

Dedicated to continuing the work of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., HMAC chapters have a long history of working together for the purpose of serving all mankind.  The combined efforts of the chapters have served the greater Houston area by providing school supplies and backpacks, as well as food and clothing to children in need.  Other service initiatives include beautification and repairs to play grounds so that children and families have safe areas to play.  HMAC has a long legacy of leadership and service.
