Three-time Grammy-nominated R&B Singer Al B. Sure! recently visited Missouri City Middle School as part of the school’s annual Read Across America celebration, a special event that celebrates literacy. Special guests are invited to read to students and share an inspirational message.
Sure visited with choir students about his experiences in the music industry. They were excited to learn he is the father of Quincy Brown, a popular character in the FOX television show Star.
In addition, Sure made a donation to the MCMS choir program to be used toward the purchase of new competition uniforms.
Before leaving, Teen Leadership and PALs students presented Sure with the MCMS Crystal Apple Award, an honorary recognition given to members of the community that inspire, motivate and encourage today’s youth.
“I am completely humbled and honored that Ms. Jeanene Holliday and the amazing students of Missouri City Middle School invited me to their Read Across America Day assembly,” said Al B. Sure. “I was elated to see the students, faculty and principal alike all have positive and uplifting spirits. You all made me feel as if I was a part of the MCMS family, and I thank you all for the hospitality.”
