Civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy at the funeral of the woman shot and killed by a Baytown officer last week.

The funeral will be held Thursday at Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 7034 Tierwester St. Visitation starts at 9 a.m., and the funeral starts at 11 a.m.

Pamela Turner, 44, was shot outside an apartment complex in Baytown May 13 when Officer Juan Delacruz tried to arrest her for outstanding warrants.

The shooting was captured on video by a witness and has since gained national attention.

Delacruz, an 11-year officer with the department, remains on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated by the Texas Rangers.

Baytown PD is also conducting an internal investigation.

The funeral home said the public is welcome to attend.
