When you talk about Spring native Simone Biles and what a dominant force she is in the gymnastics world, you quickly run out of adjectives to describe her. Despite suffering from kidney stones that had her hospitalized a day before the World Championships began in Qatar, Biles still performed at a championship level. She made history by becoming the first woman gymnast to win her fourth all-around title in November. In addition, Biles became the first U.S. gymnast to win a medal in every event at a single World Championship. She captured gold in the vault and floor exercise, silver in the uneven bars and wrapped it up with a bronze medal in the balance beam.
