In the latest episode of “Donald Trump vs. Anybody Who Dares to Speak the Truth,” the former president has now set his social media sights on none other than Charlamagne Tha God โ radio giant, cultural critic, and unapologetically Black truth-teller.
Yes, that Charlamagne. The same voice that has challenged presidents, grilled candidates, and held power to account through his nationally syndicated platform, The Breakfast Club. Over the weekend, he had the audacity โ the Black audacity โ to speak truth to power on Fox News, during an interview with Lara Trump (yes, the daughter-in-law). And what did he say that shook the Mar-a-Lago marble floors?
โI wouldnโt give [Trumpโs presidency] a good rating simply because the least of us are still being impacted the worst,โ Charlamagne told Lara with the kind of calm truth that cuts deep.
The former president, unsurprisingly, couldnโt take the heat. He fled to Truth Social โ his echo chamber of delusion โ to label Charlamagne a โdopeโ and a โracist sleazebag.โ He even had the nerve to attack the radio hostโs name, implying that invoking โGodโ in his moniker was some kind of offense. Sirโฆ is this really the hill you want to die on?
Charlamagne didnโt just criticize Trumpโs tax cuts that helped the 1%โincluding himselfโhe pointed out the real cost. โThereโs going to be so many people thatโs hurt by that bill,” he said, noting the gutting of Medicaid and the economic harm to already vulnerable communities. Translation: Black folks, poor folks, the overlooked and underservedโagain, the “least of us.”
But perhaps the most poignantโand propheticโpart of Charlamagneโs interview was his prediction of a Republican Party civil war. โThereโs a political coup going on,โ he said, hinting that the Epstein files could be the torpedo that finally sinks the MAGA Titanic. โTraditional conservatives see this Epstein mess as their golden ticket to reclaim the party.โ
And letโs be real: they might. The Justice Departmentโs refusal to release Epsteinโs full file has sparked firestorms across the internet. Conspiracy theorists, online sleuths, and even Trumpโs own base are demanding transparency. After all, Epstein wasnโt just a monsterโhe was a monster with connections.
Trump, who once posed gleefully for cameras alongside Epstein, wants us to believe heโs on the side of truth. Yet, the moment anyone dares to suggest accountability โ especially someone Black, bold, and media-savvy โ Trump does what he does best: deflects, distracts, and detonates.
Charlamagne, for his part, remains unfazed. He reminded viewers that he gave President Biden the same treatment. Thatโs called consistency. Thatโs called journalism. Thatโs called loving your people enough to demand better from power โ no matter who holds it.
So here we are: in a battle not just between a president and a popular radio host, but between delusion and truth, arrogance and accountability.
And if Trump thought this was going to end with a clapback on social media, he might want to think again.
