Happy New Year, Defender Family.

As we step into 2026, we find ourselves at a critical crossroads. The glass may feel half empty to some, but I am here to tell you it is also half full. We cannot afford to be bamboozled by the “woe is me” narrative. Our ancestors didn’t survive and thrive by complaining; they did it through grit and resilience.

To support you in this journey, our dynamic Defender team is working harder than ever. We are committed to providing news and information that does more than just report the facts—we aim to empower you with the tools and resources necessary to improve the quality of your life.

This year, “showing up” is our mandate. We must participate on all fronts. Politically, that means mobilizing for the Texas March Primary and the November Mid-Terms. Your vote is your voice—don’t let it go unheard. Economically, we must intentionally support Black businesses and invest in our own people. Our community’s strength is rooted in our collective financial power.

However, we are only as strong as the individuals who make up our village. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Take control of your physical, mental, and spiritual health. Stop waiting for a hero; we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Get off your behind, focus on the actions you can control, and let’s stop the sideline commentary. 2026 is the year of the doer. Go make a difference.

Power To The People,
