
NFL Star Jacoby Jones Dies at 40
Jacoby Jones, former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl champion has passed away at the age of 40. The Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and the NFL confirmed his death on Sunday, though the cause remains undisclosed.
Jones, known for his exceptional plays during the 2012 postseason, spent nine years in the NFL, playing for the Texans, Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Diego Chargers.
The Ravens expressed their sorrow, stating, “We are completely heartbroken to learn about the passing of Jacoby Jones. Jacoby had the unique ability to connect with everyone he encountered. His charisma, joy and love created a one-of-a-kind presence that could light up any room or brighten any dark day.”




Jones’ career highlights include the “Mile High Miracle” during the AFC Divisional Round and his record-breaking performance in Super Bowl XLVII, where he scored two touchdowns, including a 108-yard kickoff return – the longest play in Super Bowl history.
Former teammate Ray Lewis paid tribute on social media: “My brother, you will truly be missed. They can’t take the memories and the hard work you put in on and off the football field. You always gave back and always a pillar in the community, a Raven for life. Love ya JJ.”
