Here’s some good news to wipe away some of this election season stress that’s engulfing us all. Kamala Harris will be the next President of the United States.

True, all the polls and media outlets swear this race is a dead heat. But when all is said and done, Harris will emerge victorious and it won’t be nearly as close as folk think. And here are the five reasons why.

Black Women Will Do What They Do

Once again, Black women will come to the rescue of America by saving democracy. Not exactly. Yes, soul sisters will do what they always do when this nation is about to eat its young and throw all chances of a future down the toilet. And sure, one way you can read that is to say Black women are saving democracy. But really, that’s just a side effect of their real aim – to save their people and humanity. And Black women do it in multiple ways, one of which is voting like bosses.

But don’t get it twisted. Black women are about the business of making life better for Black women, men, children, seniors, businesses, and institutions. It’s not that they have any real love for the red, white, and blue. Rather, it’s their love for the Red, the Black, and the Green that moves them to make whatever situation and geographic location their people reside in, the best possible. Saving democracy is merely a side effect.

Black Men Will Represent

Bump all that noise you’ve been hearing about Black men defecting to support the candidate endorsed by the KKK, neo nazis, and every scum of the earth white domestic terrorist group you can think of. Will there be some negroes who vote against the interest of their own people? Sure. There are always a few. But don’t ever forget the second largest voting block for team justice behind Black women has always been Black men. And it will remain true this election season. When it comes to securing a Harris/Walz victory, to quote Public Enemy, “Brothers Gonna Work it Out.”

Black Millennials and Gen Z Will Shock the World

Our young people received the memo. They’ll sho-nuff will be on their Black job and vote. And quiet as it’s kept, they’re already on it; getting involved in the political process in ways big and small, making sure we have a fighting chance moving forward for the world we want.

Cookout Invites Growing

With all the focus on that false narrative about Black men running to ride Trump’s jock, very few people are talking about the thousands upon thousands of white women and men who are casting ballots for Harris. Sure, the majority of whitefolk, regardless of gender, will vote for the fascist (the myth of white supremacy is a helluvah drug). But enough will recognize Trump will destroy them too, and the planet, with his anti-humanity agenda. I mean, when have you ever in life seen so many big-time, high-profile Republicans come out and endorse the Democratic candidate for president?

Black Gen X with be the X Factor

Harris will be the first member of Generation X to serve as this nation’s Commander-in-Chief. And a large part of her victory will come because of the efforts of a group that is always forgotten, ignored and overlooked, but who keeps everything together. Yes, I’m talking about Harris’s generational homies—Gen X members. These members of the greatest generation will be the deciding factor—the X factor—that brings this victory on home.
