After months of anticipation, Beyoncé has revealed details about her new haircare line called Cécred.
In an Instagram video, Beyoncé said hair is “sacred” and the journey begins Feb. 20. She had previously hinted at plans to enter the hair care industry, recalling working in her mother’s salon.
“It has always been a dream of mine to create a hair care line. That’s why I’m so proud to share Cécred, which celebrates and honors the wisdom of our hair,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “ I’m excited that you are now a part of this community and can help to build an intimate and powerful space where we can share our journeys, our hair secrets and protect all things sacred.”
The announcement video featured compilation clips of people getting their hair done, including childhood footage of Beyoncé. Fans reacted positively but joked they still await her “Renaissance” album visuals.
Throughout her career, Beyoncé’s hair has evolved through wigs, extensions, and protective styles. In 2019, her mother shared a video showcasing Beyoncé’s natural hair, surprising fans.
Cécred’s launch during Black History Month may provide insight into the mystery behind Beyoncé’s manes. Her hairstylist noted the reveal shows “black girls got hair” without weaves or wigs.
The haircare line fulfills Beyoncé’s longtime dream of honoring her mother’s legacy. Fans eagerly anticipate Cécred’s release to learn Beyoncé’s hair care secrets.
“How many of y’all know that my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon?” she wrote in an IG post. “I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”
