First Katt Williams. Now, comedian and actress Mo’Nique has taken a seat on the couch of Club Shay Shay.

And just like Williams, Mo’Nique didn’t hold anything back in which she put big name stars like Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish — to name a few — on blast in a wide-ranging interview with Shannon Sharp that aired Wednesday on his podcast.

Mo’Nique opened up about her struggles in Hollywood after winning an Oscar for Precious in 2010. She alleges powerful figures like Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry and others spread false rumors that she was “difficult” and sabotaged her career.

Mo’Nique maintains she always fulfilled her contractual obligations promoting Precious, but Oprah invited her estranged family on her show against Mo’Nique’s wishes, leading to public attacks. She claims Tyler Perry privately admitted spreading rumors and Lee Daniels later apologized.

Though she starred in a hit sitcom that earned $800 million, Mo’Nique says she never saw any profits. She credits comedian Kevin Hart with offering financial help when she was “against the wall,” though their relationship soured over a business partnership he allegedly backed out of.

In discussing others like Tiffany Haddish who criticized her, Mo’Nique made controversial remarks referencing Haddish’s personal troubles. Her comments have drawn sharp backlash.

Fellow comedian D.L. Hughley hit back at Mo’Nique in response to what she said about him during the interview.

While the interview revealed new insights into Mo’Nique’s career challenges, her scathing allegations against prominent industry figures have reignited debate over her treatment as a Black woman in Hollywood versus her own reputation as “difficult.” The interview showcased Mo’Nique’s unfiltered approach in airing long-held grievances.
