New York judge has temporarily blocked the broadcast the biopic.
The TV One film was set to air on October 17 and would cover the final days of the late 22-year-old’s life.
But her father Bobby Brown filed a suit earlier this month claiming that he was depicted as a bad dad and a violent husband to the late Whitney Houston.
In addition, Bobbi Kristina’s estate joined him to shut down the project insisting that it violated her privacy. Together Brown and the estate demanded $2 million in damages.
The judge issued a ban and ordered the parties to appear in court on September 29 to argue their case.
The judge will decide later whether or not to permanently bar the movie’s release.
