Nelly was hit with a major blow to his reputation after a Washington woman accused him of rape last month. Now that she has dropped the charges, the STL rep plans to take her to court.
Nelly will reportedly be filing a lawsuit against the woman who he says falsely accused him of raping her on his tour bus.
“Nelly has suffered very real damage to his reputation,” said his lawyer Scott Rosenblum. “He has incurred economic loss and painfully has watched his family suffer. As a result Nelly is planning to proceed with litigation as the first step in restoring his reputation.”
The woman, whose identity still has not been revealed, did not want to go forward with pressing charges because she would face a lot of pressure from the public. She also refused to cooperate with the investigation, so prosecutors dropped the case altogether.
“This type of reckless false allegation cannot be tolerated as it is an affront to the real survivors of sexual assault,” Rosenblum continued.
The “Country Grammar” rapper was facing second degree rape charges.
