Nina Simone is finally being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. The self-proclaimed black classical singer has been eligible for induction since 1986 but this marks the first year she has been nominated.

Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Cars and Moody Blues are also in the 2018 class of inductees.

Simone died in 2003 of breast cancer, but her life and career received much attention last year when Zoe Saldana was casted as the lead in her biopic, Nina. Many felt that because Saldana did not look anything like the late singer, her being selected to play Simone in her life story was a huge mistake. The movie ended up being released in select theaters only and received lukewarm reviews.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Cleveland, OH.
