The Donald Trump tariffs—or the threat of the President’s tariffs on other nations like China, Canada, Mexico and England—have had a troubling effect on the American economy.
The uncertainty of the tariffs and the volatility on the stock market is having a domino effect on prices, imports and exports, and 401k plans. With the latter has come a lot of uncertainty for those close to retirement age.
With stocks dropping each day, millions of Americans headed for retirement could be forced to make tough decisions if the market continues plummeting, as it has for the past two weeks as the tariffs on other countries become more real. In our latest episode of the Defender Roundtable, we discuss the difficult decisions Trump’s tariffs or threat of tariffs on other nations have put those in nearing retirement. Houston attorney, professor and economist Carroll Robinson joins the panel for this important discussion. We talk about stock market volatility and what you can do to protect yourself.
