Houston, we have a problem… a good one, that is.

It’s time to unleash your inner cowboy or cowgirl as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo countdown kicks off. Dust off those boots, grab your hat, and get ready for a wild ride starting next Tues., Feb. 27, at the NRG Park.

The rodeo festivities began in true Texan style last week, with over 2,000 attendees hitting the trails on horseback and in wagons. These 11 rodeo trail rides are turning heads as they make their way through the region, culminating in a grand gathering at Memorial Park this Friday. But that’s not all.

Saddle up for the Rodeo Roundup, a family-friendly fiesta at Hermann Square downtown. Live music, chopped barbecue sandwiches, and a Texas Longhorn steer will have you shouting “yeehaw” in no time. And don’t forget to show off your Western spirit on “Go Texan Day” – a citywide call to don your cowboy boots, wrangle up Western décor and compete in the ultimate online spirit showdown.

Feb. 22 marked the kickoff of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Competition at NRG Park. Get ready for carnival games, rides, live music, and over 250 barbecue teams battling it out. While team tents are invite-only, the carnival is open to the public – grab your tickets and join the barbecue extravaganza from Thursday to Saturday.

Downtown heats up on Saturday with the Rodeo Run, featuring 5K and 10K races, followed by the legendary Downtown Rodeo Parade – a tradition dating back to 1938. But the excitement doesn’t stop there – saddle up for the Rodeo Uncorked! Champion Wine Auction & Dinner on Sunday night. Tables are going fast, with prices ranging from $9,000 to $25,000. Uncork the best wines from the Rodeo Uncorked! Roundup & Best Bites Competition, where over 120 Houston-area restaurants faced a culinary showdown.

And finally, the main event kicks off on Feb. 27 at NRG Stadium, featuring none other than Blake Shelton as the headline act. With performances running until March 17, the rodeo promises a star-studded lineup, including 50 Cent on Black Heritage Day (Mar. 1), Reggae trio Major Lazer on Mar. 8, and the one and only rapper Bun B on Mar.12.

Join Houston in celebrating the biggest rodeo in town! – let the good times roll!
