Community conference brings behavioral health into focus

BES Group Inc. in partnership with Bethany Baptist Church will be hosting its 1st Annual SO YOU LIVE™ Community Conference on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 10am-2pm at 7304 Homestead Rd, Houston, TX 77028.

The focus of the conference will be behavioral health and wellness, along with community health information fair in the narthex of the church.  Workshops will be held for children ages five through sixteen along with adult sessions that will run simultaneously.

Topics to include Bullying and Safe Touch for ages five (5) and up to Family Budgeting, Elder Abuse and Anger Management for adults to name a few.

Dr. Kota J. Reddy will provide the lunch keynote address, discussing the level of self-care for diabetes and cardiovascular disease and the effects and affects in the ethnic community.  “Diabetes can be reversed with a few techniques and the proper diet and exercise. However the plan takes a commitment to change and long term behavior modification.” says Dr. Reddy.

Throughout the day, community and public health organizations and local businesses will provide information and limited health screenings to visitors. The conference is free and open to public.

Bethany Baptist Church, SBC was founded in 1935. Originally organized as Houston Gardens Baptist Church, it was relocated to its current location in 1941.
