Children who have enjoyed taking part in the Houston Parks and Recreation Department’s ever-popular summer youth tennis program will get together for the department’s annual National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Kids’ Day, presented by Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship. The event will take place at the Memorial Park Tennis Center.
The National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Kids’ Day, presented by Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship, celebrates the children’s successful completion of tennis and education classes held in 39 Houston park sites.
The free program is offered through the Houston Parks and Recreation Department with significant support from the Houston Tennis Association. Additional sponsors include: Tennis Express; USTA Tennis Foundation; JPMorgan Chase & Co.; World Oilman’s Tennis Tournament; Houston Ladies Tennis Association; West Houston Ladies Tennis Association; HCDE CASE for Kids; and the United States Tennis Association. Co-founded by the late Arthur Ashe, NJTL serves to use tennis and education opportunities to assist in the positive development of young people who might not otherwise be introduced to the sport.
