States across the U.S. have engaged in redistricting (drawing new Congressional voting maps to reflect population changes) every decade (following the U.S. Census) since 1790 (except for 1920). But Texas Republicans are choosing not to wait until 2030; they are attempting to redraw Texas voting maps now.
