What is the danger?
The National Weather Service is forecasting the possibility of severe weather moving across portions of the area through Monday morning. The combination of the increasing moisture and the piece of energy pushing into Texas will lead to thunderstorm development occurring by midnight tonight across central Texas. The environment is forecast to be favorable for these storms to become severe and produce hail and locally damaging winds across central Texas starting around midnight tonight.
These storms are expected to move into east-central Texas and southeast Texas, including the Houston area during the early morning hours of Monday. In addition to the damaging wind and hail threat, the storms across southeast and east-central Texas may pose a tornado threat during the early morning hours of Monday.
