The third biennial Blue Ribbon Lobby Day will happen on Mon., April 10 at the Texas State Capitol. Co-hosted by Texas Democratic Women and the Texas Democratic Party, this lobby day serves as a focus of activism for individuals from across Texas during the legislative session.
Starting in April of 2013, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day has featured hundreds of Texans coming together at the Capitol during the legislative session to support issues important to Texas women such as economic security, healthcare and equal pay. Blue Ribbon Lobby Day has made progressive voices heard at the state legislature as well as built a network of committed, trained advocates across the state.
On April 10, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day participants from around Texas will visit legislators to bring attention to the issues of public education, health care, immigration and gun sense. The day’s activities will feature over one dozen state legislators and representatives from Texas Democratic Women, Texas Democratic Party, Annie’s List, March On! Texas, Texas Coalition of Black Democrats, Travis County Democratic Party and more.
