Every student at Deloras E. Thompson Elementary School will receive a free book during the Book-It Forward Literacy Day event hosted by Thompson and Texas A&M University students from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. During the event, Texas A&M student volunteers will read to all grade levels, focus on literacy awareness, promote college readiness and hand out books.

Thousands of books have been donated by Texas A&M students, faculty and staff to ensure that every student receives a book of his or her own to take home. Extra books will be used to stock Thompsonโ€™s Little Free Library, which is located outside the school for the community to easily access, even during holidays and summer break.
