Texas Southern University’s Jesse H. Jones School of Business students L. Shannel Vaughn, Sydney Hoyle, Jordan Roberts, Ashtyn Duncan and Jada Rogers took first place in the Phillips 66 2016 Black Employee Network (BEN) College Enrichment Day Case Competition.
TSU’s five-member team was challenged to assess and provide a recommendation on a web interface used by a hypothetical refining company. The team had to evaluate four options for enhancing or replacing the system and develop an implementation plan.
The case competition tested their quantitative, systems and communication skills as they presented their analysis to recruiting managers.
“They were an excellent team that worked very well together,” said JHJ Interim Dean Dr. John H. Williams.
