The popular Houston restaurant, The Turkey Leg Hut, suffered some minor damage after a fire broke out in its storage area, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Turkey Leg Hut drama continues.

The popular restaurant, now better known for its drama, suffered some minor damage when a fire broke out late Saturday night. The Houston Fire Department responded to the Third Ward restaurant around 11:45 p.m. to reports of smoke coming from the restaurant located at 4830 Almeda Boulevard.

Upon arriving, firefighters found the smoke emanating from the restaurant’s storage area. The firemen acted quickly to contain and extinguish the flames, limiting the damage mostly to that storage space.

The Turkey Leg Hut was already closed for the night when the fire occurred, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Fire crews were able to get the situation under control through their fast attack.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials have not released any details yet on what may have sparked the blaze in the storage area. The popular eatery known for its oversized smoked turkey legs was forced to temporarily close following the fire.

The extent of the damage and when The Turkey Leg Hut will be able to reopen remains unclear, as of now. However, the quick response from firefighters seemed to prevent the fire from spreading further and causing more severe harm to the restaurant.

There is no word on how the fire started, and it is under investigation.
