Rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is expanding his entertainment empire to Shreveport, Louisiana with the launch of his new production company G-Unit Studios. The studio is an extension of his existing G-Unit Film & Television banner.

During a press conference in Shreveport on Thursday, 50 Cent unveiled plans for G-Unit Studios, which he hopes will foster local talent, create job opportunities, and drive economic growth in the area.

“Bringing G-Unit Studios to Shreveport is not just a business decision; it’s a commitment to fostering talent, creating opportunities and building a community that thrives through creativity and innovation,” the rapper told Billboard. “We see Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity.”

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux welcomed the venture, stating, “This city’s rich culture and talent provides the perfect backdrop for this endeavor. We are eager to collaborate with Mr. Jackson and G-Unit Film & Television to bring captivating movies and entertainment to Shreveport and Caddo Parish.”

Through his main G-Unit Film & Television company established in 2003, 50 Cent has produced several successful shows across platforms like STARZ, including the “Power” universe series.

With G-Unit Studios, the multi-talented artist aims to further his mission of elevating underrepresented stories and voices. “From the gritty narratives of the streets to the compelling stories that define our era, G-Unit has always been more than just entertainment,” he said, calling it “a platform for voices that need to be heard, stories that need to be told.”

The new Shreveport-based studio represents 50 Cent’s continued business expansion and his goal to create opportunities in entertainment, especially in communities like Louisiana with deep creative roots.
