In case you didnโ€™t know vocalist and bassist Esperanza Spalding is amazing. Sheโ€™s incredibly talented and has been recognized as such. The 32-year-old has won four Grammy Awards, including one for Best New Artist, the first jazz artists to do so. Sheโ€™s also won an ASCAP Foundation Jazz Vanguard Award, a Smithsonian, a Soul Train Award and many others.

Now, sheโ€™s adding another line to her already illustrious resume.

According to a press release, sheโ€™ll be teaching as a professor at Harvard University, becoming a part of their music department faculty.

As a professor of practice, Spalding will teach courses in โ€œsongwriting, arranging, improvisation and performance,โ€ in addition to the music portion, sheโ€™ll also be sharing her commitment to music as a form of social justice with her students.

This wonโ€™t be Spaldingโ€™s first time in a similar role. From 2005-2008, she taught music at the Berklee College of Music, immediately after she graduated from there.

Congratulations to her!
