The Fifth Ward CDC and Vice Mayor Pro-Tem Jerry Davis hosted the 5th Annual Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival, featuring three entertainment stages, a Kid’s Zone, food trucks, youth cheer squads, high school bands, a celebration of Harvey heroes, and a helicopter egg drop. The theme for this free, family-friendly event was “Houston Strong and Nickle Proud.” Attendees included State Senator Borris Miles, Kathy Flanagan Payton, Rev. Harvey Clemons, Casandra Garza, Elsie McGowan, Deputy Samantha Hutchinson, Gentry Carr, Jaileya Prince, Blanca Torres, Charlie High, Damali Hill, and more.
