In response to the Hurricane Harvey tragedy, Texas Black Expo, Conscious Capitalism Houston and Emmy Award-winning producer Rushion McDonald teamed together to award micro-grants to several small businesses affected by the storm. The event, held at the Houston Area Urban League office, saw each business represented received a $1,000 check bringing the total businesses helped to date to 27. The goal of this ongoing effort is to award a total of $100,000 in micro-grants. Attendees included TBE’s Jerome Love, CCH’s Catherine Harris, HAUL’s Judson Robinson III, State Rep.
