The Buy Black Friday Marketplace at the Shrine Cultural & Events Center celebrated its fifth anniversary of providing an opportunity for entrepreneurs and consumers to gather together to support and celebrate Black businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. United under the goal of community empowerment, participants voted with their dollars to steer money away from traditional stores and into Black businesses. A record number of vendors were on hand for the two-day event, with customers commenting on the high quality of goods as well as the positive, family-friendly, holiday vibe. Attendees included Nailah Nelson, Ashanti Suzie Hughes, Earnest & Nana Goodrich, Chef Talivu Kelly, Corliss & Gregory Stokes, Alexandria Hodge, Furaha Collins, Ayinde Bradshaw and scores more.
