The Citywide Kwanzaa Committee hosted its annual Kwanzaa festivities held at multiple locations in Houston and Galveston. With the nation’s tense social and political climate Kwanzaa nationally has taken on added significance for African Americans, as seen in this year’s attendance. Attendees included Donna Kadirifu, Nailah Nelson, Rev. Sylvia Bradshaw, Felecia Garner, Deloyd Parker, Sonjia Solomon, Jeremiah Banks, Cavanaugh Nweze, Zinnijah Guadalupe, Jackie Bryant, Taylor August, Rashida Porche, Italo Johnson, Deloris Mitchell, Linda Jones, Amir Strong, Johnisha Smith and others.
