As part of Councilmember Amanda Edwards’ “Be the Solution Signature Series,” The Empowered You: Houston Senior Citizens Conference provided speakers, workshops and activities designed to arm participants with information for empowered living. DeEtte Sauer, a National Senior Games gold medalist, provided words of inspiration, as did Rawle Andrews, AARP regional VP. Along with information booths and live entertainment, line dancing took the event to another level. Attendees included Rosalind Chew, Horace Griffin, Dana Jackson (Majic 102.1 FM), Avis Ballare, Cecil G. Snow, Daisy Snow, Christie Russell, and many others.
